Morgan Freeman in 'The Maiden Heist'

I recently saw this straight to DVD movie called 'The Maiden Heist' which starred Morgan Freeman, Christopher Walken and William Macy. It was supposed to release in theaters this year but the distributor called Yari Group International pulled the plug and filed for bankruptcy. Anyway, the movie was not bad at all. The story is about three security guards working in an art museum who each got very possessive about some artworks. After learning that the all art works in the museum is moving to Denmark, the three security guards plan a perfect heist to steal the artworks that they have gotten attach to. It's one of those feel good entertainer where you don't really expect much. What I don't understand is, what was Morgan Freeman doing in this movie. Don't get me wrong, I thought he did a decent job but I was not expecting him to be cast in a small budget film like The Maiden Heist. Although, he's one of the executive producer. The guy is a talented actor and acted in several powerful movies such as The Shawshank Redemption and Driving Miss Daisy. I've noticed recently that quite a few Morgan Freeman movies have been going straight to DVD. To name a few, there is 'The Contract' with John Cusack, another one called 'Edison' with Kevin Spacey. On the other hand, we also saw him in 'The Dark Knight', 'Wanted' and 'The Bucket List' to name a few big budget films. One is really looking forward to 'Invictus' where he plays Nelson Mandela with Matt Damon.
